The huge fire began under the bridge around 6:30 a.m., police said.

Blazes should have been visible shooting up from the street between Leave 30 - Cottman Road/Rhawn Road and Exit 32 - Institute Rd/Linden Road.

Thick dark smoke filled the sky and traffic is halted around there.

A few blasts have been heard nearby too.

Drivers are being approached to stay away from the area. The people who were on the highway had to pivot.

The fire is out, as of 7:30 a.m., and teams are evaluating the harm abandoned. There has been no word on assuming anybody was harmed. Authorities said there are no worries for neighbors.

Interstate 95 (I-95) is a major highway in the United States that spans the East Coast, running from Miami, Florida, to Houlton, Maine, near the Canadian border. It passes through several major cities, including Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In the context of Philadelphia, I-95 is an important transportation route that runs along the eastern edge of the city, providing a crucial north-south connection. It stretches approximately 44 miles through the Philadelphia metropolitan area, intersecting with various other highways and serving as a primary route for both local and long-distance travel.

I-95 in Philadelphia has multiple exits and entrances, allowing access to various neighborhoods and destinations within the city. The highway passes near popular landmarks such as the Philadelphia International Airport, the Sports Complex (which includes the stadiums for the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles), and the historic district of Old City.

Given the size and population density of Philadelphia, traffic congestion can be a common occurrence on I-95, particularly during peak travel times. The highway also serves as a major trucking route and experiences significant commercial traffic.

It's important to note that road conditions and traffic patterns can change over time, so it's always a good idea to consult real-time traffic updates or navigation apps for the latest information when planning a trip on Interstate 95 or any other roadways.
